Let's do some exploring! Whether it be paddling the fingers of Lake Santeetlah, exploring the wilderness backcountry that only Calderwood Lake can provide, or seeing the sights on frigid Cheoah Lake, we can always find solitude.
Unlike our guided fishing trips, we do not limit our groups to 3 paddlers...we welcome larger groups!
You'll be led by an experienced guide with all of the proper qualifications to make sure your trip is safe and enjoyable. Your guide will be certified in wilderness first aid, ACA River Rescue, fully insured, and permitted by the U.S. Forest Service. When paddling away from cell service, your guide will always carry a satellite communication device.
Lake Santeetlah-
Our local lake. We'll escape the boat traffic and head into one of the many quiet fingers of the lake.
$75 per person, approximately 4 hours.
Cheoah Lake-
If you've ever traveled from Deals Gap to Fontana, you have driven along Cheoah Lake. Let's paddle it, end to end! We meet at the main boat ramp below Fontana Dam and paddle 7 miles to the kayak portage take out at the top of Cheoah Dam.
$75 per person, end to end trip takes approximately 4 hours.
Calderwood Lake-
This is by far our favorite place to paddle. This trip starts at the Magazine Branch Lake Access below Cheoah Dam. We'll see plenty of seasonal waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and lots of wildlife. If the water level is right, we'll even paddle through an old train tunnel! Expect to see eagles, otters, beavers, and if we're lucky, even a bear, hog, or bobcat swimming across the lake!
$75 per person
